As part of a major rebranding effort for Marktplaats, digital design agency Hike One was commissioned to revamp the platform’s visual identity. Their goal was to modernize the brand while making it feel warmer and more approachable. Central to this transformation was the development of a new illustration style, aimed at improving communication and creating a more personal user experience on the website.
As part of a major rebranding effort for Marktplaats, digital design agency Hike One was commissioned to revamp the platform’s visual identity. Central to this transformation was the development of a new illustration style, aimed at improving communication and creating a more personal user experience on the website.
Following the successful launch of the refreshed identity, I was brought on to animate the official brand video. My task was to bring the new visual language to life through motion, highlighting the updated brand philosophy and tagline in a way that was both engaging and aligned with the new direction.
Collaborating closely with two illustrators, a creative director, and a project manager, we crafted a playful yet informative video that served as a key piece of the brand rollout. I focused on translating the static illustrations into dynamic visuals that conveyed the energy, clarity, and personality of the new identity.
This project was a great opportunity to contribute to a high-visibility brand transformation and to work within a multidisciplinary team to ensure consistency across all visual touchpoints.
